CM unhappy over failure to check prices

LAHORE:Chief Minister Usman Buzdar presided over the meeting of provincial taskforce on price control at his office on Tuesday.

The chief minister expressed strong indignation over failure in taking effective steps for overcoming price hike and added that the rates of essential items should be reduced. He directed to take strict legal action against the elements involved in inflation and made it clear that lip-service would not work anymore. Giving relief to the masses is our joint responsibility; he said adding that every step should be taken to stabilise the rates of vegetables.

The chief minister said that price hike was the issue of the common man; steps should be taken to give immediate relief to the people and implementation of price control mechanism should be ensured, as well. Everything is possible if one’s intention is good and why price hike is not controlled, he inquired.

The chief minister announced that he would personally check the rates of different commodities and asked the officers to go to the field and monitor the auction process in grain markets in the morning so as to ensure price control. He also inquired the rates of different items from Commissioners through a video link.

Mayor: A delegation led by Lord Mayor of Manchester City Abid Latif Chohan called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed matters of mutual interest. Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that Pakistan-UK relations span over many decades and Pakistan gives importance to these relations.

Usman Buzdar maintained that further expansion of relations between Punjab and the UK is the need of the hour adding that conducive environment had been provided to investors in Punjab province.

MPs: Members of the provincial assembly from different districts called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office here Tuesday and apprised the chief minister of problems and development schemes of their constituencies.

The chief minister issued instructions to the officials concerned for the solution of problems. The assembly members also presented various proposals about their constituencies.

Talking on this occasion, the chief minister said that a coordinated strategy had been devised to solve the problems being faced by the people in districts. He regretted that public money was wasted on exhibitory projects in the past and added that the PTI government has eliminated such wrong traditions.

Child rights: Usman Buzdar has said that children are the most precious asset of the country. In his message, the chief minister said that children are the future builders and protection of their rights is a collective responsibility of the society. Children’s education inculcates self-confidence and different steps have been taken by the government to ensure protection of children rights.
