Q1: I am working as senior secondary teacher in a government school. I have done master two subjects; History and English (Linguistics). My whole academic career is bright except my graduation which is a poor show. I have got third division in my BSC securing 44 percent marks and this very third division is a big hurdle in my plans as I cannot go either for any competent exam or higher education. I keenly intend to do my MPhil but a third grade in academic career does not allow me doing so. Please, guide me in this regard, how to cope with this hurdle to complete my higher education and plans. (Saba Jabeen - Bahawalpur)
Ans: I do not understand why your Bachelors degree should create any problems if you have done two masters in good division. I will suggest that if you wish to continue in teaching profession you should look towards doing a BEd rather than MPhil and then see if you can continue teaching for few more years before you do your MEd History. Linguistics with MEd should strengthen your profile.
Q2: I have completed Electrical Engineering degree with 83% marks in terms system. Now I want to do masters. Can you please guide me that in which subjects now I have to do masters either in Engineering or some Management subjects? (Ilyas Akbar - Islamabad)
Ans: I would advise you to consider doing MSc in Mechatronics. This is a strong mixture of electrical, electronics and mechanical engineering and will open up better job prospects in future. There are a number of universities in Pakistan and abroad which offer these degrees. It will depend on the finances available to you.
Q3: Sir, I am working as a Staff Officer in a private educational institute. I have learned and earned both together in my life that’s why I could not complete my master degree so far. I have seven years working experience in office management and admin department as well. So please guide me what should I have to do further to complete my Masters. (Faizan Anwar - Gujranwala)
Ans: I will advise you to find time and money for doing an MBA from a recognised university. A little hard work and investment will help you to open up greater career opportunities for you and you may be able to recover from your financial hardships soon.
Q4: I am studying BSCS from University Of Karachi. I want to carry on my studies and I want to complete my MS so which university in Pakistan is best for my masters programme. (Ayub Anwar - Karachi)
Ans: If you are looking to do MS in Computer Science from Pakistan you should try to look towards NUST or FAST and third option could be COMSATS.
