PAKPATTAN: A farmer was crushed to death in an accident near Chak 65-EB on Saturday.
Ali Muhammad was on his way home when a speeding bike hit him. As a result, he was seriously injured. Later, he was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
COMMITS SUICIDE: A man committed suicide at Chak 68/EB on Saturday.
Muhammad Afzal, father of two children, ended his life by taking poison. The motive behind eth incident is said to be unemployment.
WOMAN TORTURED: A woman was tortured by her former husband at Faisal Town on Saturday.
Accused Astara along with his two accomplices entered the house of his former wife Sajida Bibi and allegedly beat her and tortured her He also allegedly took away cash and other valuables. Police have registered a case.
WOMAN ABDUCTED: A married woman was abducted from Chak 42/EB on Saturday.
The wife of Riaz was on her way when two accused including Nizam Ali allegedly abducted her. Police have registered a case.
MAN INJURED: A man was injured over litigation at Chak 61/SP on Saturday.
Three accused including Abdul Waheed allegedly shot at and injured Ghulam Muhammad over litigation issue. Police have registered a case.
RAIN: The city received heavy rain on Saturday.
The rain continued for several hours with regular intervals. The rain turned weather pleasant. However, the rainwater entered the houses of low-lying areas caused problems for the residents.
STRIKE: The District Bar Association Pakpattan and Tehsil Bar Association Arifwala on Saturday observed a complete strike against the government for not issuing a notification to establish the Lahore High Court Bench in Sahiwal.
