PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has announced to exempt all industrial estates from electricity loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision was taken at a meeting between acting president of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) Maqsood Anwar Pervez and Pesco’s Director (load management) Sajjad Ahmad Sethi at the Wapda House on Wednesday, said a press release. Maqsood Anwar apprised the Pesco officials about the reservations of business community in the province regarding the loadshedding.
In response to Pesco’s commitment to exempt the industrial estates from loadshedding, he expressed his satisfaction and said the decision would boost industrial and trade activities in the province. “Electricity line losses were zero in industrial estates while industrial load is around 165 to 170 megawatts, which is less compared to other provinces,” he added. The Pesco officials announced to exempt Hayatabad Industrial Estate, Small Industrial Estate Kohat Road and other industrial estates from the power outages in the province. They said the company would ensure uninterrupted power supply to the industrial estates.
