Misunderstandings between the KMC parks department and Shahzad Qureshi, the man who adopted a park in Clifton to develop an urban forest, cleared on Thursday as Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar visited the amenity plot ST-13 in the Park Lane area and announced that the KMC would help Qureshi in his urban forest project.
Earlier this month, the KMC had cancelled the agreement on the grounds that Qureshi had failed to fulfil his commitments. Akhtar said when he personally visited the park, he realised that Qureshi’s method will take time and the urban forest will appear good once it was completed.
