LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has announced that Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate will be made operational by August 2015.
Chairman PIEDMC S M Tanveer said, "The 450 acres industrial estate in Rahim Yar Khan is near completion and it would initially be supplied with six megawatt electricity for industrial activity."
The Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif laid down the foundation stone of Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate in February. “From two incomplete industrial estates (Sundar & Multan) and debt burden of Rs1 billion in 2009, the PIEDMC progressed rapidly to become financially self sustaining and took on the challenge of starting seven new mega projects while completing Sundar and Multan industrial estates simultaneously,” Tanveer said.
The company has achieved sustainability because of transparency and accountability, better financial management, improved corporate practices, enhanced industrialization through colonization drive and strategic vision for development of industrial estates under the leadership of CM Punjab.
“The client-oriented policies include standard operating procedures for more effective customer facilitation, setting up of the offices of various utilities and one window operations for successful launch of the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate,” he said.
Thousands of people would be able to get jobs with the completion of all seven industrial estates in near future, the chairman added.
