Afghan govt ready to hold talks with Taliban: envoy

Afghan ambassador in Pakistan, Janan Mossa Zai, called on Jamaat Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq at Mansoorah Friday evening and discussed matters of mutual interest particularly the beginning of a new era of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Both the leaders agreed that peace in Pakistan was the need of the entire region, and that the new era of development and prosperity would be dawned on the region after the withdrawal of US-led allied forces from Afghanistan.
Sirajul Haq said people of Pakistan always held their Afghan brethren in heartfelt love and brotherhood, and they had always cherished the unflinching bond of Islam between them.
He said the Pakistani people had the sentiments of love and sympathy for their Afghan brothers, instead of any particular party or leader, adding that his sympathies were with all Afghan people instead of any individual or a party.
Sirajul Haq made it clear that any compromise on region’s Islamic identity was neither held in the past nor it would be held in the future. The Afghan ambassador said the Kabul government was ready to hold talks with the Taliban or former Mujahedin groups any time.
He said Kabul’s doors were open for all parties to the conflict and it wanted to hold talks with all of them to restore and consolidate peace in the country. Sheikhul Hadith Maulana Abdul Maalik, Ameerul Azeem, Hafiz Sajid Anwar and Muhammad Asghar were also present on the occasion.
Urdu: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch Friday said the country needed a policy and a system that may accord a top priority to the youth and their education, sports and jobs.
Addressing a joint gathering of Shabab-e-Milli, Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba and the Punjab University students, Baloch said youth are real asset of the country and Pakistan is blessed with abundant manpower especially youth.
However, he said, the country was in the grip of a corrupt elite that was controlling Parliament and state institutions.
He said corruption and incompetence of the ruling junta was creating feelings of revolt among the youth.
Later, addressing an Iftar dinner arranged by the Islamic Lawyers Movement, he urged lawyers, intellectuals, civil society and political forces to launch a country-wide movement for the enforcement of Urdu as national language.
He said the JI would act as vanguard in the movement.
leaders: Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Idrees Friday said satanic forces are getting stronger owing to unavailability of sincere leadership in the Muslim world.
Delivering Friday sermon at Mansoora mosque, Idrees said Muslims’ blood was being shed across the world and the Jews and the Christians were occupying the Muslim areas and were turning them slaves.
He said due to disunity in Muslims the issues such as Kashmir and Palestine were not being resolved.
He also said the issue of Myanmar Muslims would only be resolved after the unity of the Ummah.
He said nuclear Pakistan’s image abroad was not clear because of corruption and cowardice attitude of Pakistani rulers. He criticized the role of IMF and the World Bank in the Muslim world.
