The Karachi Traffic police on Friday has issued the traffic management plan for Youm-e-Ali, to be observed on July 9th and 21st Ramzan.
The main procession in this regard will emerge from Nishtar Park and will end at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian in Kharadar.
It will be mandatory to get stickers, to be displayed on the windscreens of vehicles, for anyone who wishes to participate in the mourning procession.
According to the directions issued by city traffic police, all vehicles belonging to and affiliated with law-enforcement agencies, district administration, ambulances and media will have to submit application for obtaining stickers from July 4 to July 7 to the office of DIG Traffic at the police headquarters in Garden, Aga Khan Road. Stickers will be issued to them on July 8.
Request for issuance of stickers by government departments will have to include a list of all vehicles to be used, while ambulance services and media organisations will have to provide attested copies of vehicles’ registration books, computerised national identity cards of vehicle owners and drivers, copies of driving licenses and two photographs of drivers.
However, scouts’ and welfare organizations, and others pertaining to the distribution of sabil, nazar and niaz will have to submit their application forms with the following documents. They will be given a receipt which will be used to collect the stickers from the office of DIG Traffic at the police headquarters in garden on July 8.
The following documents are mandatory for obtaining a vehicle sticker for entry into the procession. Traffic police administration declared that stickers will not be issued unless the following documents are submitted.
Copies of registration books of vehicles, national identity card of the vehicle owner and river, driving license, two photographs of the driver and a letter of request from the organisation or the party concerned.
Meanwhile, scouts’ and welfare organisations will also have to include a letter from the Scout Rabita Council on its letterhead and will have to deposit a copy of identity card and CNIC and council’s original receipt for collecting the sticker.
