Mayor Wasim Akhtar has said many problems of the city will be resolved if the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will get Rs 500 million1 from its Octroi Zila Tax (OZT) share.
He said this while talking to media during his visit to the Karachi zoo and under-construction Saddar Empress Market on Wednesday. He said the development work in the zoo was being delayed because of the Sindh government, adding that the contractors apprised him that they were not getting timely payments.
Akhtar said he wanted the bureaucracy to do their work but they were highly reluctant to take any step. He said battery shops around the zoo had been removed during the anti-encroachments operation and now beautiful paintings were being made on the boundary walls.
