Remissions sought for prisoners on blood donations
PESHAWAR: A petition was moved on Thursday in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking directions for the provincial government and Prisons Department to start remissions to the convicted prisoners on blood donations as provided in the prison rules.
The petition was filed by lawyer Amanullah Pirzada, in which he prayed before the court to issue directions to the Khyber Pakhtun-khwa government and Inspector General of Prisons Department to start screening tests and blood donations of the prisoners across the province.
In the petition, it was pointed out that as per Rule 212 of “The Prison Rule 1978” to make offer of blood donation to convicted prisoners of KP and the volunteered prisoners shall be awarded remissions are per Rule 212 of the Prison Rule.
