141 outlaws arrested, arms, drugs seized
LAHORE: Lahore Police (Iqbal Town Division) in its crackdown on criminals arrested 141 criminals and recovered 15 pistols, two rifles, bullets, more than 21-kg Charas, 10-kg Bhang and 70 bottles of liquor.
SP Iqbal Town Division Zubair Nazir had directed the DSPs and SHOs concerned to take strict action against criminal gangs. Accordingly Iqbal Town Division Police busted 05 gangs and arrested its 13 member’s alongwith recoveries worth more than 16 lakh from them. Moreover 32 Proclaimed Offenders of A&B categories in cases of theft, cheque dishonour, fraud and other crimes were arrested alongwith 24 court offenders.
MINISTER MEETS IG: Punjab Minister for Information Samsam Bukhari met Punjab IG Amjad Javed Saleemi at Central Police Office Lahore. The IG briefed information minister about working of police, HR and all steps taken for facilitation of public namely 8787, internal accountability, Khidmat Marakiz, and Police Service Counters along with other different services of Police. On this occasion, Information Minister acknowledged the initiatives of the IG.
RESCUE 1122: Public Relations WiAn international delegation from the International Emergency Team United Kingdom (IETUK) paid visit to the Rescue Headquarters and Emergency Services Academy to review and provide training in the specialised fields of the Urban Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting, Fire prevention, Fire Investigation and emergency driving to the staff of the Emergency Services Academy in accordance with international best practices.
The British Fire and Rescue experts during their visit inspected the academic facilities, training simulators (Fire Fit Challenge, Fire Tower & Fir Burn House), piratical sessions of fire trainings including fire-fighting, fire prevention, fire investigation, risk assessment, fire hazard and also reviewed training module. The delegation appreciated the presence of professional quality instruments in the Emergency Services Academy and expressed satisfaction over the environment and the available resources of fire and safety shall be supportive for teaching of professional courses of fire investigation, risk assessment, firefighting, fire safety and the mental health wellbeing of firefighters.
Dr Rizwan Naseer, founder Director General Rescue 1122 while briefing the visiting UK delegation, said that in order to ensure advance training of instructors/ fire rescuers in accordance with International standards. The Rescue 1122 shall be able to revise and review training programs in collaborating with the International Emergency Team United Kingdom (IETUK). We are pleased the IETUK team will evaluate the fire and rescue trainings as third party which is being imparted in the Emergency Services Academy,” the DG said.
