Prices of 18 eatables fixed

Rawalpindi: The Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa has fixed prices of 18 eatable items and issued notification here on Tuesday.

According to the notification no.1309/DO(IPWM) Price, issued by Deputy Commissioner and fixed the price of rice (new) at Rs110 for 1-kilogram and rice (old) at Rs120, rice (irri) at Rs50, gram ‘daal’ (bareek) at Rs110, gram daal (moti) at Rs120, ‘masoor’ (moti) at Rs95, ‘mash’ at Rs122, mash (kuram) at Rs142, ‘mong’ at Rs137, white gram (mota) at Rs145, white gram (bareek) at Rs120, mutton at Rs800, beef at Rs375, sugar at Rs60, 1-liter milk at Rs70, yogurt at Rs80, roti (100 gram) at Rs7 and naan (120 gram) at Rs10.

The deputy commissioner said that he would strictly monitor profiteers in markets and FIR would be registered and fines would be imposed against hoarders and profiteers. He said that he had formed four teams of price magistrates to visit markets and arrest profiteers.
