SUKKUR: An explosion was heard near the deputy commissioner’s Office, Sukkur, on Friday that created panic among the residents, while the police denied it was linked to any terror act.
The police said the explosion occurred at a gas supply pipeline passing through the Military Road where the deputy commissioner’s office is situated. It created panic among the residents. The explosion also stopped gas supply to Sukkur, Rohri and adjoining areas. The explosion resulted in complete damage of a portion of footpath on the Military Road.
The police and bomb disposal squad reached the spot and cleared the area after thorough inspection. The police stated that no casualty was reported in the incident. The SSP Sukkur, Irfan Summo, told media persons that the explosion occurred due to leakage of gas and no clue had been found regarding any terror act.
