No cleanliness
Larkana has remained under the strong, unshakeable grip of the PPP-led provincial government for the last 10 years. It is painful for the city’s residents to see that they are still deprived of basic facilities. There used to be a time during Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s rule when the streets, sidewalk and roads used to be sprinkled with water every day. There used to be a proper way of cleaning the city. Now, the city is in a shambles. The revolting stench of the unattended garbage has held the city in its tight grip. Heaps of garbage also pose a serious threat to public health.
Over the course of a few years, Larkana has turned into a concrete jungle with lesser green spaces. Larkana doesn’t have well-maintained parks where families may go to walk and enjoy. The higher authorities must look into the matter.
