Growers of 11 Punjab districts get subsidy on cotton seeds
MULTAN: The Punjab government Wednesday decided to provide subsidy to cotton growers of eleven South Punjab districts on purchase of approved varieties of cotton seeds under the recently announced agricultural policy for the current season.
According to agriculture officials, growers from Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur are entitled for the subsidy. Punjab Agriculture Information official Naveed Asmat Kahloon said the government had subsidized approved cotton seed varieties, including UB-2013, FH Lalazar, FH-142, BS-15 and MNH-886. He said the subsidy amount would be provided in the same month of the purchase through voucher present in the seed bag and growers had to send on SMS the voucher number and their CNIC Nos.
