Fawad Ahmed undergoes treatment after nasty blow
KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators’ leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed was rushed to the hospital soon after he was hit straight on the face while bowling in the Pakistan Super League Qualifier against Peshawar Zalmi here at the National Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Pakistan-born Fawad, who has played three One-day Internationals and two T20 Internationals for Australia, broke his teeth and was in the need of stitches after a full-blooded shot by Peshawar opener Imam-ul-Haq hit him straight on the face in the tenth over of the innings.
“It was a nasty blow and he (Fawad) will be needing stitches,” a Quetta official told ‘The News’.Fawad was taken off the field and was later sent to a local hospital for treatment even as his team-mates marched to an important victory in the PSL playoff. Once Fawad left the field, Rilee Rossouw completed his over taking the wicket of Imam off his very first ball.
