CTD arrests six suspected criminals

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh Police arrested six suspects during raids in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

According to CTD officials, Rehan and Gul Zaman were arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off near the Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. They were said to be involved in looting citizens returning from banks after withdrawing cash. Two pistols and a Suzuki high-roof were confiscated from their possession.

The officials said that the suspects had a criminal record and they were arrested in the past. The gang comprised nine members and after committing crimes in Karachi they escaped to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The CTD police also arrested Kashif, Nadeem and Waqar in the SITE area. The suspects were involved in more than 100 cases of motorcycles lifting from various parts of the city, adding that after lifting motorcycles from Karachi they used to sell them in Baluchistan. The police seized two TT pistols and a 9mm pistol from their possession.

Moreover, Iqbal along with a TT pistol was apprehended during a raid conducted in the Nagan Chowrangi area for his involvement in various street crime and robbery cases. The cases against the suspects have been registered and an investigation is underway.
