Industrial units fined in Haripur
HARIPUR: The Labour Department has registered a number of cases against the industrialists for violating labour laws, an official said on Wednesday. Faizullah Khan, Deputy Director Labour Hazara division, told reporters that during the last two months, he conducted surprise visits to over 300 industries in Hattar Industrial Estate. The official said he found a violation of the Minimum Wage Act and non-following of the government instructions for ensuring occupational safety and health of the workers. He said that he registered the cases against over 300 industrial units and recommended to the Labour Court for further legal proceedings. He added that the Labour Court had imposed fine of Rs1.8 million on over 61 violators while the other cases were under trial. The official further said that a total of 51 cases were decided during the last month.
