Sahiwal tragedy: DVR disk tampered with: forensic agency
By News desk
LAHORE: The Forensic agency has sent the complete report of the Sahiwal tragedy to the authorities and recommended conducting lie detector test of CTD officers.
The report says CTD officials had fired shots at the victims’ vehicle. The digital video recorder (DVR) disk sent to the agency has been tampered with. If the real disk had been sent to the laboratory, it would have been established who ordered the fire at the victims. The forensic agency has asked for a polygraph test so that facts could come to surface. The CTD officials also tampered with two SMG rifles to mislead the authority.
On the other hand, a joint investigation team (JIT) on Friday decided to record the statement of Sahiwal firing victim Zeeshan’s brother Ahtasham. Ahtasham and other eyewitnesses have been summoned to the police club on Saturday.
Forensic sources said they could identify the person who tampered with the digital video recorder. DVR recordings have revealed details of who issued orders to fire at the ill-fated vehicle, the sources confided, adding that it was now necessary to conduct a polygraph test of top CTD officials.
