Islamabad : Director: Mohsen Gharaei
Lok Virsa unspools Don't Be Tired (Khaste Nabashid) from Iran at Mandwa Film Club tomorrow (Saturday) at 3 pm.
Mohsen Gharaei who directed Don't Be Tired in 2013 is a graduate in Mining Engineering. He worked as assistant to several notable directors including Majid Majidi and Behram Bayzai. In 2017, his film Blockage won top award at Busan International Film festival in South Korea.
Don't be Tired deals with many things: an Iranian-Canadian couple with uneasy relationship over the demise of their son. They are taking a trip through the desert in the hope that things would work out. Then there is an old house in the desert. The wife also wants to reconnect with her homeland in Iran. Another character here is the car with too frequent breakdowns.
Don't be afraid does not depend much on production values and effects. It is more of a road movie and travelogue made on a modest budget.
