A delegation led by Executive President of Peoples Institute for Foreign Affairs of China Lu Shumin called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday. Promotion of trade, economic, cultural and political relations between Pakistan and China was discussed during the meeting. The meeting agreed to further strengthen cooperation in trade and economic sectors and continue joint steps for coping with terrorism. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Executive President CPIFA agreed that terrorists were our common enemy and collective steps would be taken for complete elimination of terrorism in future as well.
Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz Sharif said that China was a very sincere and trustworthy friend of Pakistan. He said the historic economic package given by Chinese President for Pakistan was unprecedented.
He said that everlasting friendship ties between Pakistan and China had converted into strategic economic cooperation. He said that Pak-China economic corridor was a game changer for Pakistan. The chief minister said that not only Pakistan but the entire region would benefit from Pak-China corridor project. —HO
