Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called on Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana at Governor’s House Friday and discussed political and economic situation of the country and development projects in Punjab, particularly in the southern part of the province.
The governor said the government was fully determined to improve the people’ lot and he would play due constitutional role in this regard. He said provision of basic needs like education and health to the people at their doorstep was his prime objective and several new projects would be initiated to ensure it. He said more focus would be on the South Punjab to bring it on a par with the other developed cities of the province.
He said due to the prudent economic policies of the government, the economy of the country was boosting and the international financial institutes were acknowledging the increasing growth rate of the country.
The governor said the investment of $46 billion by the Chinese government in Pakistan was their trust on the government and its policies. He said the people of Punjab were lucky that they had got the chief minister like Shahbaz Sharif, who was making the all-out effort to improve the life of a common man.
On this occasion, the chief minister congratulated the governor on assuming new responsibilities as Punjab Governor and anticipated that he would play his role to bring good to people. He said several development projects were in progress in the province and many new mega projects were in the pipeline especially for the South Punjab.
