Robbers deprived citizens of their valuables including cash and gold ornaments and vehicles worth millions of rupees here on Sunday.
Robbers took away valuables worth Rs 600,000 from the family of Khadim Hussain in Sattukatla, valuables worth Rs 200,000 from the house of Sadiq in Chung, valuables worth Rs 400,000 from the house of Irfan in Shadbagh, valuables worth Rs 400,000 from the family of Afshan in Defence A, Rs 400,000 from Rafaqat in Township, and valuables worth Rs 100,000 from the family of Imran in Green Town. Bikes were stolen in Defence B, Baghbanpura, Old Anarkali, Kot Lkahpat, Gujarpura, Shahdara, Shadbagh, Misri Shah, Factory Area and South Cantt.
Protest: Family members of a woman, who expired in a local hospital after being set ablaze by her husband, staged a protest demonstration against Lahore police in front of Punjab Assembly on Sunday. The protesters placed the victim’s body on the road and blocked The Mall. They chanted slogans against police and demanded immediate arrests of the culprits involved in the killing of Sadaf. The protesters dispersed after police assured them of arrests.
Lecture: Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital (PGMI/LGH) Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra has said a civilised nation always abide by traffic rules. According to a press release issued on Sunday, the principal while delivering a lecture at Post Graduate Medical Institute said the use of cellphone and doing wheelie could cause of fatal accident for the bikers.
