Owing to the re-elections in NA-246 the Sindh Home Department with immediate effect imposed a three-day ban on pillion riding on motorcycles in the entire city on Tuesday.
The ban which took effect on midnight would end on the midnight of Friday and Saturday (April 24 and 25).
The police higher-ups had requested the department to impose the ban to maintain public order and peace during the election.
Elderly persons, women, journalists, and personnel of law-enforcement agencies were exempted from the ban.
According to the notification issued the ban on pillion riding was imposed under section-144 of the CrPC whereas concerned police stations had been asked to register cases under section-188 of the PPC against those violating the ban.
