SUKKUR: The leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that bulletproof vehicles were available for politicians but not for the police which led to frustration in police personnel who were fighting against terrorists.
He expressed these views at a ceremony held to give awards and shield to the officials of Sindh Police by the Sukkur Press Club. He urged upon the government to provide bullet proof vehicles to police officers. He said that Sindh Police have improved law and order situation in the province by sacrificing their lives.
He said that the population growth was an important factor in creating law and order issues. The population of the country is 200 million which is expected to reach 400 million in 2025. Population growth led to unemployment, poor law and order and other complicated issues.
He said that the population growth issue should be taken to the Council of Common Interest (CCI). He said that the murder of Khalid Mahmood Soomro and Shikarpur Imam Barghah blast cases have been resolved by Sindh Police.
DIG Sain Rakhio Mirani said that politicians were involved in postings of their favourite SHOs which ultimately results in deteriorated law and order condition.
President Sukkur Press Club Lala Asad Pathan, General-Secretary Khalid Bhabhan, president Sukkur Union of Journalists applauded the Sindh Police and gave shields and rewards to DIG Sain Rakhio Mirani, SSP Sukkur Tanveer Tunio, SSP Khairpur Nasir Aftab, SP Khairpur Sajid Khokhar, ASP City Khairpur Masood Banghash, SSP Karachi Pir Muhammad Shah, SSP Hyderabad Irfan Baloch, SSP Shikarpur Saqib Ismail Memon, SP Irfan Bahadur, SSP Tufail Ummar, Abdul Qudoos Kalwar and others.
