Nawaz asking for more trouble: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said the issue of country’s alleged involvement in Mumbai attacks has been raised by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif himself and the explanations he was giving now are creating more problems for him and his party.
Addressing JI’s central executive at Mansoora on Monday, he said it would have been better for Nawaz Sharif to admit his mistake. Sirajul Haq said nation fully knew that Nawaz Sharif was a close friend of Indian Premier Modi. He said nobody expected that a man, who had been prime minister thrice, would make such an irresponsible statement about national security that would not only land him and his family in trouble but also create problems for the nation and the country. He said at a time when the country was under great pressure at the international level, the political leadership should be most careful while speaking on sensitive and national issues.
Sirajul Haq thanked the people, especially the Lahorites for making the MMA public meeting a great success. He said MMA was the true representative of the nation’s aspirations and sentiments. He said MMA leadership lauded the cooperation of people in the struggle for the enforcement of the Nizam-e-Mustafa. He said the MMA would certainly achieve the goal for which this country had come into being and would not spare any sacrifice in this direction.
He said the success of Minar-e-Pakistani meeting had raised the morale of the Islamic forces while the agents of secularism and colonial powers were greatly upset. He hoped that the MMA would gather more public support in the days ahead.
