PMDC announces NEB exam schedule for 2018
LAHORE:The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has officially announced the schedule for NEB examination for the year 2018. The plan which was announced for the first time in the PM&DC history aimed at facilitating foreign graduates in order to save their precious time.
The PM&DC NEB examination will be held under the supervision of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS).
According to a press release issued here Monday, as per the details of the schedule, the 1st examination of 2018, step II for medical and dental graduates will be held on 13th May, 2018 comprising of clinical subjects and step III will be on 30th June, 1st July, 7th July and 8th July, 2018, and will be based on OSCE/VIVA exam.
It is pertinent to mention that the registration for examination (Step-I) for foreign medical graduates was held on 15th April (Sunday), at Islamabad Pak-China Friendship Centre and Army Medical College Rawalpindi in collaboration with National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) in which 3,128 candidates appeared in the examination out of them 1,000 appeared in the exam in Army Medical College and 2,128 at Pak-China Centre, Islamabad. The examination was held successfully. Parents and students expressed their full satisfaction with holding of successful exam and expressed the hope that PM&DC would continue serving the medical graduates. Despite huge number of students, the exam was held in a very disciplined and organised manner. All types of security measures were taken with strict care.
In order to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination the PM&DC Ad hoc Council members also visited examination centres. PM&DC Ad hoc Council expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at the time of visit made by National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) for holding the examination successfully. The step I of the 2nd phase of NEB examination for medical dental graduates will be held on 25th November, 2018, based on basic subjects. The step II NEB examination will be based on clinical subjects and will be held on 23rd December, 2018. Simultaneously, the step III will be based on OSCE/VIVA and will be held on 19th January, 20th January, 26th January & 27th January, 2019.
