The chief guest on the occasion was Federal Minister for Commerce Mohammad Pervaiz Malik. The minister and ambassador after inaugurating the event, visited the stalls. More than 50% stalls were given to Chinese entrepreneurs to show their products so that they could have more trade with Pakistan. Other countries were also given stalls so that they could generate economic activity with Pakistan.

Asim Malik, Vice Chairman Achievement awards and former Vice President of Rawalpindi Chairman of Commerce and Industry Asim Malik while speaking to The News said that through this expo we are not only generating economic activity in the city but also providing entertainment through this expo. People in Pakistan are starved of good entertainment and social activities, so now we have extended two more days to this Expo, which would continue till 15th April. This time we have targeted Central Asia for business activity because their market was untapped. Earlier the trade with them was only done by our neighbours but this time we have taken the forefront and done business activity with them. Romania, Indonesia, Malaysia has put up their stalls. It was assumed that Rawalpindi is not safe for diplomats but today we are showing the world that in Rawalpindi, so many ambassadors have happily come here to inaugurate and show support to our International Expo. We are showing the soft image of Pakistan to the world through this Expo.

He said that Public would attend the live Music show free of cost and enjoy their evenings here in the serene environment of Ayub Park. They can eat at food court and buy various things from the stalls provided to national retailers. Many discounts are also being offered at the expo as compared to the market rate. Rawalpindi Chamber is successful more than other chambers because of our productivity and our conclusive and result oriented activities. We generate our own funds. Last year we went to Turkey for business opportunities and now we are going to Azerbaijan.

Malik Abrar while talking to this said that it’s a great effort by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and industry and this year too we are expecting more than 7 lac people at this expo.
