Selectors pick 25 for camp
ISLAMABAD: The national cricket selection committee on Tuesday picked 25 players to attend a training camp for the tours of Ireland and England.
The players were selected following fitness tests conducted at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The training camp will be established at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from Wednesday (today). The touring squad will be announced in a few days’ time while the camp will continue till April 22. The squad departs on the 23rd.
Camp probables: Batsmen: Azhar Ali, Sami Aslam, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Salahuddin, Fawad Alam, Saad Ali, Imamul Haq.
Spinners: Bilal Asif, Muhammad Asghar, Shadab Khan, Kashif Bhatti.
Fast bowlers: Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Abbas (exempted as allowed to play county in England), Hasan Ali, Rahat Ali, Mir Hamza.
Wicketkeepers: Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan.
All-rounders: Fahim Ashraf, Hussain Talat.
Player development: Shaheen Shah Afridi, Musa Khan.Players not considered due to injuries: Yasir Shah (hip fracture), Shan Masood (knee injury).
