ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Thursday questioned in what capacity he may talk to Nawaz Sharif and criticised Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for his demand of “Judicial Martial Law’ calling it unconstitutional. He said the person who loves martial law will call for judicial martial law.
“A person who was part and parcel of martial laws will demand the judicial martial law as no democrat could make such a demand,” he said while talking to newsmen at his chamber at the Parliament House.
The opposition leader said judicial martial law will be unconstitutional and no one could go beyond constitution. He said clear procedure for caretaker government has been given in the constitution and no one can violate it. “If advice for the judicial martial law is accepted then it will be treated under Article 6 of the constitution as it is treason,” he said. Asked whether he will consult Nawaz Sharif for appointment of caretaker prime minister, the opposition leader said why he would as Prime Minister is to be consulted for it. He said officially political parties could not hold consultation with each other on this issue but unofficially they could. He said the Prime Minister will give names for caretaker setup. On the future of Nawaz Sharif, Khursheed said he could not predict anything.
