UVAS workshop ends
LAHORE: The Department of Clinical Medicine & Surgery of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Tuesday arranged concluding ceremony of “two-day International workshop on Collective Action for Knowledge Economy Using Technology (CAKE-TECH).” The workshop was funded by Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB) under Civic Engagement Programme.
University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session and distributed certificates among resource persons. Virtual University Rector Dr Naveed A. Malik, Norway Mare Nostrum Otto Evjenth, Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz, Punjab University Health Sciences Dean Prof Dr Awais, Prof Dr Anila Zameer Durrani, Dr Shahida Noumani, faculty members, students and national and international participants from all over the world were present.
The workshop recommended the use of technology and competence system for livestock and public health. For sustainable livelihood of less privileged community, focus on water, nutrition, health and energy as core factor must be consider in civic engagement programme. The competent system must be linked with technology and communication system for delivering affordable and tailor made support to community in collective action programme.
It was agreed in the workshop that UVAS, University of Karachi, University of Engineering & Technology Karachi, Virtual University and Marrinotum Norway would collaborate and cooperate in action taken under Collaborative Action Programme.
