Pawns are never sincere: Nawaz
NANKANA SAHIB: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PTI chief Imran Khan are the two sides of the same coin, having the same interests.
He was addressing a public rally here in the Sangla Hill on Sunday. “Both of them who once called each other thieves have now shaken hands ‘owing to my (Nawaz) fear’.”
Lashing out at Zardari and Imran, he said they being pawns were neither sincere with the public nor with the politics of Pakistan as they were merely pawns. “They are cheaters who can only do the traditional politics of deception. Giving vote to Zardari is tantamount to voting Khan. The masses of Sangla Hill have rejected the ouster of Nawaz Sharif. The PML-N took the country to the heights of progress while Zardari and Khan have done nothing. The PTI voters have voted for the PPP-backed candidate in the recently-held Senate polls,” he added.
He said he did not do any corruption. “I have no charges of six billion rupees, no Haj scandal, no rental power and nothing more to be blamed of. Ousting an elected prime minister on the charge of not taking salary from his son is unprecedented. Nawaz Sharif will come to power again, again and again.” He stressed on the public to support the narrative of Nawaz Sharif as it was the matter of future generations’ betterment and sanctity of vote.
According to Geo News, the former premier said his party had started educational and development projects in the Nankana district. He said his party had delivered through its performance and ended the menace of loadshedding across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said the whole nation had seen the drama in Senate election. It is the insult of 22 crore people of Pakistan like the way votes were purchased and sold in the Senate polls. “Both are the same from inside. The vote you will give to Imran will go to Zardari too,” she said.
She said the faces of conspirators had been exposed. She termed Zardari and Imran brothers. “Nawaz Sharif has come out for the sanctity of vote. People will not vote puppets and conspirators,” she claimed.
Addressing the rally participants, PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz said nobody can become a leader by abusing while standing on a container. He said the party workers had always stood firm with the former prime minister. Federal Minister Ch Barjees Tahir, Captain (retd) Safdar, MPA Rana Arshad and others were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, district police took strict security measures to avoid any untoward incident.
