ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad, has awarded “IRI Award for Outstanding Academic Contribution” to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed on Friday.
The award, the first such one, given by the Islamic Research Institute, was given to Mushahid Hussain by the International Islamic University President Dr Ahmed Yusuf al Draiweesh at a special ceremony held at their Faisal Mosque Campus’s Quaid-i-Azam Auditorium, in recognition of his long-standing services to promote education, research, reforms, tolerance and moderation in Muslim societies, particularly in Pakistan.
Accepting the award, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said he was humbled and honoured by this award. He said Islam lays great stress on education, research and knowledge, which is the key to progress.
