Yousaf enters CJCSC Tennis semis
ISLAMABAD: First Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Ranking Tennis Championship (men’s singles category) reached semifinal stage with Yousaf Khalil being the only non-seeded player making it to the last four stage.
Yousaf breezed past Asadullah Khan 6-0, 6-1 to make it to the semis. He played flawless tennis hardly giving any chance to Asad to halt his progress. Khalil’s back and forehand sizzlers had no answer. Others making it to the pre-finals included third seed Muzammil Murtaza who beat his elder brother Mudassar 6-0, 6-2. Top seed Mohammad Abid also earned an easy win against Huzaifa Abdul Rehman beating him 6-2, 6-0. Fourth seed Heera Ashiq had to work hard to beat Mohammad Shoaib 6-4, 6-3. Fifteen-year old Shoaib gave a good account of himself before losing a close match against Heera.
