Islamabad: President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh long with IIUI delegation is presently visiting different Indonesian universities.
During the visit, he signed a number of memorandums of understand with different Indonesian Universities/Institutions of higher education. Executive Director, Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue, (IRD), Dr. Husnul Amin is also accompanying the IIU president.
IIUI delegation visited Dar-us-slam University, Gontor and attended a conference on “Past, Present and Future of Palestine.” The conference was largely attended by Indonesian students. The IIUI president especially mentioned the historic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia vis-à-vis Palestinian issue.
He said that like every Muslim of the Islamic world, the hearts of the Saudi people also move with the Palestinians. More than 60 articles were presented in the conference. The Rector of Dar-us-Salam, Professor, Fateh Ullah Zarkashi on the occasion paid tributes to Dr. Al-Draiweesh and Dr. Husnul Amin for their educational and research contributions.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh also visited Dar-us-Salam female campus and addressed the students at the Jamia Masjid and highlighted the role of women in building societies. He said that Islam bestowed significant status to women because of their crucial role in forming future of nations.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh with Dr. Husnul Amin during his visit to Jamia Dar-al-Najah, Jakarta addressed a gathering of hundreds of students and asked them to adopt moderate behavior in their lives. Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that Islam is an enlightened religion which is free of all kinds of extremism. He further motivated students to prepare themselves with knowledge and action for taking the responsibilities of future. On the occasion an MoU was signed with the President Jamia Dar-al-Najah, Dr. Oon Munim.
