HARARE: With ICC World Cup Qualifiers fast approaching, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has decided to ring in a few changes to the initial squad by recalling Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao to replace Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda.

“ZC have recalled Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The two were not named in the initial 15-player squad, but have been included in place of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda,” the official twitter handle of Zimbabwe cricket said.

Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda, who were part of Zimbabwe ODI squad during the recent tour to UAE, have had poor returns against Afghanistan, but the reason for their exclusion has not been revealed yet by the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZWC). Sean Williams, who last played for Zimbabwe in July 2017, had not been in the reckoning since after a mediocre tour in Sri Lanka where he struggled in both departments of the game. His recent performances in the domestic circuit, however, could have injected a seed of fresh hope for the selectors who decided to give him a go.
