FCC annual athletics get under way

LAHORE: The 131st annual athletics championship of Forman Christian College (FCC) started here at the picturesque track of the college with traditional fervor and enthusiasm.

The opening of the championship was performed by the University Rector, Dr James A. Tebbe. James A. Tebbe. Afterwards, Zafar Ullah took the Olympic oath on behalf of all the participating athletes.

The results of the opening day’s events: 5000m race: Azhar Iqbal 1st, Zohaib Asif 2nd, Hayyat Ullah 3rd.Hammer throw: Murtaza 1st, Haytham 2nd. Pole vault: Jansher 1st. Triple jump: Azhar Iqbal 1st, Jansher 2nd, Hasnain 3rd.

1500m: Azhar Iqbal 1st, Zohab Asif 2nd, Hayyat Ullah 3rd. Javelin throw: M. Arshad 1st, Jansher 2nd, Hayyan Nadeem 3rd.

Shot Put: Murtaza Raees 1st, M.
