Islam, Nasrullah excel in Monthly Golf

LAHORE: The February 2018 Royal Palm Monthly Medal Golf Tournament was held at the challenging par-72 Royal Palm Golf Course. Amongst the 62 competitors who participated in this fiercely-competed event, there were important names like Omer Ehsan Dar, Asad Hameed, Ale Imran, Imran Mian, Saeed ul Haseen, Zia Maqbool and Irfan Raja but the fight was so intense that none of them could make it to the honors board. Those who successfully neutralised the challenge of the course and emerged, as winners were Abdul Islam in gross section and Dr Nasrullah in net section. These two emerged on top in the race for honours in handicap category 0-12. Abdul Islam stayed on course to compile a gross score of 83 which proved to be the best one of the day and the tournament and enabled him to pick up the glittering champions trophy. Through a card of net 76, Dr Nasrullah secured the first net position. Runners up gross was Shoaib Bokhari and runners up net was Abdullah Sharif. Participants in the handicap category 13-18 had a tremendous outing in this Royal Palm Monthly Medal Competition and only the mentally strong ones managed to demonstrate their winning abilities. Ali Naeem was first in gross while Zafar Iqbal ended up as runners up gross. The net first was won by Abdul Rauf .Second net prize went to Zahid Hussain. As for the top ones in the Seniors category the winner gross was Tariq Malik and the winner net position was captured by Ahmed Najeeb. Other allied prizes were won by Omer Ehsan Dar (nearest to the pin) and Dr Nadeem (longest drive). On the conclusion of the tournament Abdullah Sharif, Captain Golf Royal Palm Club, gave away the prizes.
