Pakistan to face Brazil in friendly futsal match tomorrow
KARACHI: Pakistan will play Brazil in a friendly futsal match here at the KPT Stadium on Monday (tomorrow).
The match will begin at 2:30pm. The vice-president of Sindh Soccer Futsal Association Qamar Yar Khan told ‘The News’ on Saturday that the nine-member Brazil side, which is currently featuring in an international futsal event in Islamabad, will arrive in Karachi on Monday, just before the game.
Qamar said that water-tight security arrangements have been made for organising the game. He said that 18 players were on Saturday shortlisted for forming Pakistan team for the purpose during trials at the KPT Stadium, adding, final 12-member side will be unveiled on Sunday (today).
He said that all districts of the provincial metropolis have been advised to cancel all their engagements on Monday so that fans could witness the match.
KPT chairman Rear Admiral Jameel Akhtar will grace the occasion as chief guest, he said. Qamar said that it is the national team of Brazil, saying, the match in Karachi would be very interesting. After staying for a night, the Brazilian team will leave on Tuesday. He said that the main gate of the KPT Stadium will be utilised for entry of the VIPs, while the spectators will enter the venue through the remaining four gates. There will be no entry fee, he said.
