PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Hafizullah has said the 6th Annual Health Research Conference organised by the
university (KMU) recently helped portrayed a soft image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He said that organising the mega event was not only a sign of pride for KMU and health professionals but it also helped the organizers in portraying a soft image of the province.Dr Hafizullah said besides having plenary and parallel session, 18 scientific workshops as well as poster and oral presentations were held in the conference.
He said the KMU was growing very fast in the right direction, having eight constituent and 28 affiliated institutes across the province and imparting quality education to thousands of students.The vice-chancellor said it was happiest day in KMU’s seven years history as the university had finally got its own campus in Hayatabad.
Prof Dr Hafizullah said the KMU institutes were providing a wide range of services from undergraduate to postgraduate training in medical, dental, nursing, paramedics, physiotherapy, basic medical sciences and health professional education disciplines through BS, master’s, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes.
The research conference was addressed by Prof Dr Riaz Anwar, Dean PGMI
and head of department of cardiovascular surgery at Lady Reading Hospital, Dr Tasleem Akhtar, Prof Emeritus of KMU, Prof Dr Abdul Basit, director Baqai Institute of Diabetology Karachi, Prof Dr Mukhtiar Zaman Afridi, researchers and educationists from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad as well as principals, faculty and a large number of students of public and private medical and dental institutions.
