A court has given a verdict in favour of pensioners above the age of 75 (the double pension case) and has ordered raising pension and payments of arrears to them.
Reportedly, pensioners of the federal government and three provinces are receiving amounts as per the court directives except the pensioners of Punjab who are still deprived of their legitimate right given to them by the court. The affected people (most of them ill) have time and again contacted the AG Office but have not received a proper reply. The prime minister and the chief minister are therefore requested to remove bureaucratic hurdles in this regard and give pensioners their rightful share.
