Rawalpindi: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Planning) Rao Atif Raza said that it is the need of hour to streamline agriculture sector at scientific lines in order to enhance our production.
He said that special initiatives are being taken in this regard which are aimed to increase per acre production and ensure availability of fertilizers at specified amount and price. Furthermore he added that, Punjab government is vigilant to provide relief to farmers and Kisan package is practical demonstration of it. DAP subsidy scheme is another chain of it under which holders of DAP scratch card will get subsidy of 150 Rs per bag. He said that 61847 farmers have been registered for Kisan Card in Rawalpindi District so far who can benefit from these subsidy schemes.
He expressed these views while chairing meeting of District Agriculture Task Force Committee at Deputy Commissioner Office. Meeting was attended by Khalid Mehmood Deputy Director Agriculture (Ext), Balqees Khanum AO Technician, Muhammad Ayaz Assistant Director (Ext), Tahir Mehmood Assistant Director Taxila, Sadia Bano AD agriculture, Muhamad Aqeel Awan AD Pesticides and other concerned officers.
