Rawalpindi: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has started work on five and half kilometer long 10-inch diameter gas pipeline from Soan to Adiala Road on Sunday.
The operational project was pending since two years therefore consumers of tail end localities particularly Adiala, Tulsa, Gorakhpure and Morgha were facing natural gas crisis in winter. After laid down 10-inch diameter pipeline will improve the gas provision in several localities of these areas.
The SNGPL Senior General Manager (Rawalpindi Region) Muhammad Zahoor told ‘The News’ that work regarding to laid down 10-inch diameter pipeline from Soan to Adiala will be completed in a month. The distance of supply line is five and half kilometer long, he claimed. He said that consumer of tail-end areas included Adiala, Gorakh Pure, Tulsa, Defence Road, Munawar Colony, New Lalazar and Morgha will get full pressure gas even in winter now.
He also said that we are taking steps to ensure interrupted gas supply in all areas throughout the year. Many projects of gas supply has been completed while several others were in progress in the region.
He said that we have addressed more than 40,000 complaints and 30,000 new connections installed till February, 2018. He said that total 82 operational lines had been laid down to resolve low gas pressure in the region. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has directed us to improve gas pressure in Rawalpindi region, he said.
