ECP to issue schedule for Senate polls on Feb 2

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has set in motion a process for the conduct of much-speculated about Senate election and announced to issue the schedule for the electoral exercise on February 02.
As many 52 senators will be completing their respective terms on March 11, 2018. However, speculations were rife about the fate of the upcoming Senate election and these further deepened when a no-trust move was launched against the former chief minister Balochistan recently.
The schedule was approved by the ECP, an announcement by the Election Commission Secretariat said. However, the notification on appointment of returning officers and polling officers for the conduct of the Senate election has been issued.
