All PTI MPs have handed me resignations: Imran

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said all the party legislators have handed over their resignations to him and that he would take a decision on the resignations after consultations with senior party leaders.

He told a media conference after chairing the PTI central executive committee meeting that they were being given threats of bringing a no-trust motion against the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that they had a plan in response to it. The meeting emphasised that Imran’s decision on resignations would be final for which he had been given the mandate.

“Both NS & daughter know they will be convicted so they are attacking SC & NAB, esp with NAB supplementary ref on JIT report's conclusion that Maryam is beneficial owner of the 4 Mayfair apartments & she gave fake documents to SC to cover this up. Forgery another crime committed,” Imran claimed in tweets.

The PTI chief also wrote, “Why is (Shahbaz Sharif) SS crying about victimisation already? I faced probe for one year in the SC despite never holding any public office so why is SS attacking NAB? If he is clean he should face all charges like I did and disprove them.”

He pointed out that so far the Multan metro bus scandal had been unearthed and wondered how could the Rs200 billion Orange Line train project remain a secret. He added that Shahbaz Sharif had given construction projects, valuing at Rs1,000 billion and whatever he pocketed, would be brought before public.

The PTI chairman said he appeared before the Supreme Court for a year regarding his London flat worth Rs6 million and now Shahbaz was raising hue and cry over appearing before the NAB. Imran asked why was Shahbaz crying now.

Imran said the PTI committees of experts were being formed to prepare data on corruption in Punjab and Sindh. He claimed that Nawaz Sharif would be punished in the money laundering case by the end of next month and that was why he was mounting attacks on the judiciary. Imran claimed that whenever Nawaz found crisis, the situation at the Line of Control would face disturbances, as the forum vehemently condemned the killings of innocent Pakistanis as a result of Indian shelling.

Imran talked about the police reforms in KP and emphasised that such reforms were required in Sindh and other provinces. He challenged Shahbaz to visit Mardan to condole child Asma’s gory murder and criticise the local police and then see reaction of the people there.

About the resolution adopted against him in the Sindh Assembly for cursing the parliament, he said that whenever he talked, all the thieves would get united. He pointed out that one-minute assembly proceedings consumed Rs70,000.

He warned that the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was playing a dangerous game by opposing the merger of Fata with KP and insisted that extending jurisdiction of the apex court and high court to Fata was not enough.

Imran said that Nawaz would have to give reply to the public questions, what was the need of amending the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat law and maintained that people would never forget this matter. “There are voices from every constituency that those behind the amendment be named,” he said.

Earlier, the PTI committee strongly condemned the US decision of shifting its embassy to Al-Quds and said this would fan more anarchy. The meeting also condemned the killing of Naqeeb Mehsud during a police encounter in Karachi and said that such incidents and the Kasur tragedy happened because the police were corrupt.

The central executive committee was sharply divided on the option of en masse resignations from the National Assembly and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, fearing the move could be counterproductive and divide the party just ahead of general elections. Therefore, playing safe, the forum mandated Imran to take a decision on resignations.
