Aisam, Matkowski lose Australian Open quarter-final

KARACHI: Pakistani tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Marcin Matkowski from Poland lost in the quarter-finals of Australian Open in Australia on Tuesday. The 15th seeded pair of Aisam and Matkowski, ranked 32nd and 47th, respectively, were beaten by sixth seeded Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan, both ranked 12th, with the score of 1-6, 4-6. Aisam and Matkowski had reached the quarter-finals with a walkover as Radu Albot and Hyeon Chung retired in the round of 16 on Sunday. This was for the first time for Aisam to reach the last-eight of Australian Open.
