CM says development, prosperity hinge on honest leadership
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that only honest political leadership can lead the country to national development and prosperity.
He was speaking at a public meeting arranged in Khansher Garhi in Pabbi tehsil of the Nowshera district on Sunday.
Several political workers from the Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) quit respective political parties and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Among them were Meher Alam Khan, Aziz Khan, Abdullah, Rasheed Gul and others. Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, MPA Khaliqur Rehman, Naib Nazim of Nowhera District Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and Chief Minister Complaint Cell Chairman Hussain Ahmad Khattak spoke on the occasion as well.
The chief minister welcomed the new entrants to the PTI and presented them the party caps. Talking of the peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak said that peace had been restored in the province as a result of the sacrifices of the law enforcement agencies and Pakistan Army during the PTI rule.
“The ANP leaders should be thankful to us as they are now openly arranging public meetings, staging rallies and carrying out political activities with any let or hindrance,” the chief minister pointed out.
He said the ANP-led governments always proved to be a trouble for the people of the province.
“There was lawlessness during the ANP first government, atta (wheat flour) crisis hit the province during the second coalition government of the ANP and the party broke all corruption records when it was in power in the government for the third time from 2008 to 2013,” said Pervez Khattak.
The chief minister said the PTI-led government took concrete steps for reforming the institutions. “We rectified the wrongs committed by the past governments,” he added.
