Maulvi Ishaq killed in Karachi encounter buried
BAHAWALPUR: Maulvi Ishaq Lang, who was killed during an alleged police encounter in Karachi led by SSP Rao Anwar, was buried in his native village Basti Nazirabad, Mauza Lang Garwan, in the limits of Uch police on Sunday.
Ishaq was killed along with Naqeebullah Mehsood in a reportedly fake encounter with police. The relatives of the deceased told that he was lifted by the Karachi police twice during the last two years but later he was released. They said that he had a routine to go to Karachi and returned back to his village as he was working there.
The relatives of Ishaq demanded judicial inquiry into the police encounter. When contacted, Bahawalpur DPO Mustansar Feroz said that no case was registered against Ishaq in any police station of Bahawalpur district.
