ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) held its proceedings for 443 day over the past four years but PTI chief Imran Khan, who has cursed the parliament, attended its sessions only for 20 day, and he did not forget to draw Rs5.73 million in salary.
According to Asif Ali Bhatti’s report for Geo News, Imran, being a resident of Islamabad, was not entitled to get air tickets, but he got Rs804,000 (0.84million) travel vouchers. He attended the joint sessions of parliament only for three days out of 26 with an attendance percentage of 11.5%. His percentage of attendance in the NA remained 4.5%.
The remaining 35 MNAs of the PTI also received over Rs200 million in salaries, around Rs80 million air tickets, and Rs40 million travel vouchers, despite being absent due to sit-ins and other reasons.
Similarly, MNA Sh Rasheed Ahmed, who also cursed the parliament, attended the parliament for 275 days with an attendance percentage of 62 percent. He also received full salary and Rs1374,000 (Rs1.374 million) travel vouchers.
