Recalling fond memories of Karachi University’s inauguration ceremony in 1960, teachers and students of the city’s largest public university observed ‘University Day’ on Thursday.
Expressing his views on the occasion, KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan said the varsity’s ranking was gradually improving. “Nations investing in the fields of education, science and technology eradicate poverty to a greater extent. We all must play our role for the development of our country.”
He said the KU successfully introduced an online system of admissions for the first time this year through which admissions were granted to the students on merit. The VC also welcomed the new entrants at the KU and advised them to play their role in the development of the varsity
“KU teachers are working tirelessly despite the limited resources but we are committed to make the varsity one of the best university’s of the world." Another speaker, former KU VC Prof Dr Zafar Saeed Saifi, recalled his old days at the KU and urged the students to play an effective role for the country’s progress and development.
